Prince of Wales Window Appeal.....
As a listed building, it is important that the Prince of Wales maintains its character and charm. Our wooden sash windows are in need of replacement, these come at a great cost to the Community Benefit Society that own the building. If you would like to contribute to our Repair Pot, you can do so by purchasing a Prince of Wales Pen or Virtual Drinks.
The Prince of Wales is situated in the hamlet of Newtown on the Lizard Peninsula.
The pub was purchased in October 2022 by shareholding members of the community along with the help of fundraising groups. It was reopened November 2022 by tenants David, Emma and Michelle.
We are proud to run this beautiful 16th Century country pub. There is a wonderful log burning fire to keep you warm whilst eating and drinking with us on those cold winter days.
A warm cornish summer evening can be spent in our Beer Garden with an ice cold drink, it is a real sun trap in the warmer months and is away from the road. It becomes the perfect settling for our outdoor Summer Music Sessions which are held on various dates June- September.
We also have Customer Parking at the rear, accessed via the lane at the side of the pub.

There are board games available for family fun with the children too, our dart board is available for people over 14.
Food
Our kitchen offers a wide range of local produce, we use a local suppliers for vegetables and our meat is from cornish Trevarthan Butchers. The fish that we use is always sustainably sourced and we are fortunate to be able to buy directly from local fisherman aswell from larger Cornish fish suppliers.

We can cater for many people that have dietary needs by adapting dishes to suit. However, we use gluten products in our kitchen, for this reason our food is NOT gluten free, our intolerance menu is available on request and items can be offered as alternative to gluten products such as bread.
Accommodation
Our 2 rooms offer kingsize beds and en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are next door to each other so perfect for a group wanting to stay. The rooms offer a self-catering style breakfast which can be prepared by guests at their leisure.
Snug Shop
In Spring 2025 we opened a small shop inside the pub. The shop offers milk, bread, eggs, cupboard essentials and seasonal extras such as disposable BBQs, Charcoal in summer.
The shop is open during bar opening hours.

THE COMMUNITY AND CUSTOMERS OF PRINCE OF WALES
Our pub has plenty of character and charm! Unfortunately this incurs alot of costs to maintain.
Our windows and roof are ancient and in need of some TLC. It is a listed building so we have to look after them with only the best professional care and expertise.
We invite new shareholders coming on board to own a part of the pub, this money helps to keep the building in good repair and makes it possible to renew and improve assets.
A big thank you to everyone that has donated funds or purchased shares of Prince of Wales, you help to keep the charming country pub going.
